LAUDERDALE CO., Ala. – A 27-year-old pedestrian lost their life Monday night after being struck by a vehicle in Lauderdale County, according to reports from Shoals Insider, a partner of WAFF 48 News.
The fatal incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on Lauderdale County Road 87. Authorities confirmed that the pedestrian, whose name has not yet been released to the public, died at the scene as a result of the collision.
Lauderdale County Sheriff Joe Hamilton spoke with reporters and stated that the body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Huntsville for a full autopsy, which will help determine the exact cause of death and whether any contributing health or trauma factors were involved.
