Jyisaiah Cuthrell Obituary, Death – A 26-year-old man was shot and killed early Thursday morning in Lexington, prompting an active homicide investigation by local authorities. Lexington police were called to the scene of a shooting shortly after midnight, around 12:30 a.m., in the 200 block of Federal Street. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the front porch of a residence. The victim was identified as Jyisaiah Cuthrell.
Police officers immediately began performing life-saving measures in an attempt to stabilize Cuthrell before paramedics arrived. Davidson County EMS later transported him to Lexington Medical Center, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Lexington Police Department’s detectives and crime scene investigators arrived at the scene shortly after the incident was reported. Authorities have confirmed that the case is being investigated as a homicide. Officials stated that initial findings suggest the shooting was an isolated event and that there is no ongoing danger to the general public.
In addition to Lexington police, the Lexington Fire Department and Davidson County EMS provided assistance at the scene during the emergency response.
