Aubrey Jones Obituary, Death – A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred Tuesday afternoon in DeKalb County, resulting in the death of a Rainsville man, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
Authorities identified the victim as 59-year-old Aubrey Jones, who sustained fatal injuries when the vehicle he was driving collided with another. Officials reported that Jones was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the second vehicle was seriously injured and had to be airlifted to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga for medical treatment. The crash took place on DeKalb County Road 116, near the intersection with County Road 688.
The ALEA Highway Patrol Division is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. No further details have been released at this time.
