Kallel Fox Obituary, Death News – On Wednesday, school officials confirmed the tragic death of an eighth-grade student from Mountain Gap Middle School who was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle.
The student, 13-year-old Kallel Fox, was biking in the area of Mountain Gap and Bailey Road on Wednesday afternoon when he was hit by a vehicle. According to Huntsville Police, Fox suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he later died as a result of those injuries.
Mountain Gap Middle School Principal Heather Bardwell issued a heartfelt statement expressing the school community’s grief. “We are saddened to share that Kallel Fox, an eighth-grade student at our school, passed away yesterday afternoon,” she said. “Our hearts and thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who are grieving.”
Principal Bardwell emphasized that support would be available to students and staff through school counselors, who would be stationed in the school’s library. She encouraged families to talk with their children at home, acknowledging that everyone processes grief differently and may need help understanding or coping with the loss.
“We want to ensure our Grizzly family feels supported during this difficult time,” Bardwell said. “The loss of a child is heartbreaking. Please know that we will love and support each other through this situation like only our Grizzly family can.”
The accident occurred just two days after the start of the new school year for Huntsville City Schools, which began on Monday, August 4.
Authorities stated that the driver involved in the crash remained on the scene. A member of the Huntsville Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit responded and is handling the investigation.
No additional details about the crash or the driver have been released. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
