The victim, 53-year-old Peter Luea of Dimondale, was out running on Monday, August 4, when the accident occurred. He was jogging along Lincoln Lake Avenue NE, just north of 16 Mile Road in Spencer Township, when he was hit by a pickup truck. Luea did not survive the impact.
Luea was a well-respected family physician at McLaren Greater Lansing Family Medicine North clinic. In response to his passing, McLaren released a statement expressing their sorrow and paying tribute to his life and career. “It was with profound sadness that we learned of the tragic passing of Dr. Peter Luea,” the statement read. “Foremost, our deepest and most sincere sympathies are with his family, loved ones, and those who worked closely with him.”
