Andrea Banuelos-Salazar, Manuel Cabral-Torres Obituary, Death – A devastating car crash on Highway 9, just south of Kremmling, claimed the lives of an entire family, including three children, early Monday morning, according to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) and Grand County officials.
The collision occurred around 7:15 a.m. when the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck, traveling northbound, crossed into the southbound lane and struck a GMC Yukon head-on. The violent impact caused both vehicles to erupt in flames.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene and attempted to rescue the occupants of the Yukon, but tragically, all five family members inside were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Grand County Coroner’s Office later identified the victims as:

- Manuel Cabral-Banuelos, 5
- Maria Cabral-Banuelos, 12
- Andrea Banuelos-Salazar, 30
- Manuel Cabral-Torres, 34
All of the victims were residents of Kremmling. The crash left the community in mourning over the heartbreaking loss of the entire family.
The driver of the Ford F-150, a 25-year-old man from Parker, survived the crash but sustained life-threatening injuries. He was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. His identity has not yet been publicly released.
The Colorado State Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, and it remains unclear what led the Ford F-150 to cross into oncoming traffic. Highway 9 was shut down for several hours following the crash to allow for the investigation and cleanup.
In a statement, the Grand County Coroner’s Office expressed its condolences: “The loss of an entire family is an unspeakable tragedy, and our hearts are with all who are grieving during this incredibly difficult time.” The office also extended its appreciation to the first responders who worked at the scene despite the heartbreaking outcome.
