Patrick Smith Obituary, Death – Montgomery County Police are conducting an investigation into a deadly motorcycle crash that occurred Saturday evening in Brookeville. The incident took place at approximately 6:20 p.m. on August 9, when officers and emergency rescue teams were called to the 22000 block of New Hampshire Avenue after receiving reports of a serious two-vehicle collision.
According to police, the victim, identified as 30-year-old Patrick Smith of Bowie, was riding a Triumph Rocket motorcycle northbound along New Hampshire Avenue. For reasons that remain under investigation, Smith lost control of the motorcycle and collided head-on with a BMW traveling southbound.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and administered lifesaving measures in an attempt to save Smith’s life. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. The driver of the BMW was unharmed in the crash.
Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the collision and are continuing to gather evidence, speak to witnesses, and review any available footage that may shed light on the incident.
