John Bryon Roulaine Obituary, Death – A man who was fatally shot in a Woodlawn parking lot has been identified as 51-year-old John Bryon Roulaine of Birmingham, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

Birmingham police reported that the shooting occurred shortly after 5 a.m. Monday in the parking lot of a building located in the 5500 block of First Avenue North. Roulaine, who was preparing to start his shift at ADW Temporary Staffing, was found inside his van suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.

Police spokesperson Truman Fitzgerald said investigators believe the incident began as an argument between Roulaine and an unidentified suspect, which escalated into violence. The suspect then fled the scene.

At present, no arrests have been made. However, Fitzgerald confirmed that nearby businesses have turned over surveillance footage to authorities. This footage has provided police with a potential lead in identifying the suspect involved.

The investigation remains active as detectives work to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting. Police are urging anyone with additional information to come forward to assist in bringing the suspect to justice.

Roulaine’s death has added to concerns about violent crime in the area, and authorities remain committed to resolving the case and ensuring the safety of the community.
