Kaleb Williams Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified an 18-year-old who was killed in a South Side shooting over the weekend as Kaleb Williams. Chicago police reported that the shooting occurred early Sunday morning, around 4:37 a.m., in the 5000 block of West Maypole Avenue. According to initial findings, two 18-year-old men, including Williams, became involved in an argument with two individuals inside a vehicle.
During the altercation, the suspects opened fire, striking both young men. Williams sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The other victim’s condition has not been disclosed, and police have not released further details about the suspects or the cause of the dispute. No arrests have been announced as the investigation remains ongoing.
Officials noted that Williams was killed only about three blocks from the site of a recent mass shooting near La Crosse Avenue, although it is unclear whether the two incidents are connected.
The Chicago Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, urging anyone with information to contact authorities. Williams’ death has added to growing concerns over gun violence in the city, particularly involving young victims.
