The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) confirmed that the incident occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Mt. View Road near Asheford Trace, an area southeast of downtown Nashville.
According to the preliminary report, a silver Infiniti G37 was traveling southbound on Mt. View Road when it collided with a northbound Jeep Renegade. Witnesses at the scene told investigators that the Infiniti appeared to be moving at a high rate of speed before the crash occurred. The impact resulted in extensive damage to both vehicles and tragically led to multiple fatalities among the occupants of the Infiniti.
Authorities identified the victims as 19-year-old Maximos Ibrahim and 17-year-old Raafat Nassif, both of Nashville, who passed away at the scene. A third passenger, 19-year-old David Fakhory of Nolensville, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Infiniti, identified as 17-year-old Kerlos Toma of Murfreesboro, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and remains under medical care.
The driver of the Jeep Renegade, a 24-year-old man, was also transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Police described his condition as serious but not life-threatening. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage, and investigators are now working to determine the precise cause of the collision.
Metro Nashville Police said that preliminary evidence from the scene, including tire marks and vehicle debris, suggests that the Infiniti may have crossed partially into the oncoming lane before the crash. However, authorities emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, and further analysis will be conducted to determine the exact positions and movements of each vehicle at the time of impact.
Investigators also noted that none of the occupants in either vehicle appeared to have been wearing seatbelts, which may have contributed to the severity of the injuries.
