Two Victims Identified in Catastrophic 12-Car Las Vegas Pileup

Edward Garcia, Adeline Duran Rincon Obituary, Death News – The Clark County Coroner’s Office has officially released the identities of the two people tragically killed in Tuesday’s massive 12-vehicle crash that occurred at a busy Las Vegas intersection. The victims were identified as Edward Garcia, 38, and Adeline Duran Rincon, 20, both of whom were pronounced dead at the scene of the devastating collision.

The crash, which involved a dozen vehicles, took place when a 2011 Infiniti G37, driven by 19-year-old Jose Gutierrez, crashed into a long line of cars that were stopped for a red light at the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Jones Boulevard. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) quickly determined the Infiniti to be the at-fault vehicle, alleging that Gutierrez was driving at a high rate of speed—a factor critical in causing the massive pileup.

Tragically, 20-year-old Adeline Duran Rincon was not driving, but was a passenger inside the Infiniti G37 operated by Gutierrez. Meanwhile, 38-year-old Edward Garcia was an innocent driver, operating a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek that became entangled in the collision caused by the excessive speed of the striking vehicle.

Additional Injuries and Ongoing Care

The severity of the multi-car accident resulted in significant additional casualties. Beyond the two fatalities, a passenger in a third vehicle, identified as a 24-year-old woman, suffered injuries categorized as life-threatening. She was immediately transported to a medical facility where she is fighting for her life.

The driver alleged to be at fault, Jose Gutierrez, also sustained serious injuries in the collision and was immediately taken to a local hospital for continuous medical attention. As of Wednesday morning, police reported that he remained hospitalized and under care for his injuries.

Charges Filed Against At-Fault Driver

Despite being hospitalized and unable to be formally processed in person, police took steps to ensure accountability for the catastrophic incident. Gutierrez was officially booked in absentia on suspicion of multiple serious charges. These charges include four counts of reckless driving causing death or serious injuries, reflecting the gravity of his actions that led to the deaths of Garcia and Rincon and the critical injuries sustained by the 24-year-old female passenger.

The investigation into the details of the crash is ongoing as authorities work to reconstruct the scene and verify all factors contributing to the deadly event. The high number of vehicles involved and the tragic loss of life underscore the profound consequences of reckless driving and excessive speed on Las Vegas roadways. The community is left to mourn the sudden, senseless loss of Edward Garcia and Adeline Duran Rincon, while also grappling with the trauma inflicted on the other victims and their families.
