ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. — The Anderson County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who died following a two‑vehicle traffic collision Monday evening, authorities report.
Emergency dispatchers received a call around 6:15 p.m. about a two‑car crash at the intersection of Sayre Street and South Murray Avenue in Anderson County. First responders arrived to find one driver seriously injured.
Officials say the driver, 85‑year‑old Floyd Eugene Landers of Anderson, was taken from the scene to AnMed Health for treatment, where he later died from his injuries.
Preliminary investigation by the coroner’s office indicates that Mr. Landers’ vehicle was traveling through the intersection when it was struck on the side by another car. His death has been ruled accidental.
The Anderson County Coroner and local law enforcement continue to look into the full circumstances of the collision. At this time, no further information about the other driver’s condition has been released.
