The Tyler Police Department has released the identity of a woman who died after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday in the 1400 block of East Gentry Parkway.
According to police, the victim has been identified as 44-year-old Lindsey Null. Officers responded to the scene following reports of a pedestrian crash and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities said their preliminary findings indicate that Null was not crossing the roadway at a designated crosswalk at the time she was struck. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment but later died from her injuries.
The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and was interviewed by detectives, according to the Tyler Police Department. Officials stated that no charges are currently pending in connection with the incident. The driver was also taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the investigation included reviewing evidence from the scene, speaking with witnesses, and assessing roadway conditions. At this time, investigators have not released additional details but indicated that the case remains under review.
Authorities remind both drivers and pedestrians to remain alert and exercise caution, particularly in high-traffic areas. Police encourage pedestrians to use marked crosswalks whenever possible and urge motorists to stay attentive and observe posted speed limits to help prevent similar incidents.
Traffic in the area was temporarily affected as officers worked to secure the scene and conduct their investigation. Roadways were later reopened once it was safe to do so.
The Tyler Police Department continues to monitor the case and will provide further updates if new information becomes available. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has additional information is encouraged to contact the department.
