Authorities have identified the victims of a deadly single-vehicle crash that occurred early Sunday morning east of Riverbank, California. The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office confirmed that four people died in the crash were a family: Adrian Solorio Mendoza, 32, and Brenda Cisneros Vaca, 27, along with their young daughters, Ashley Solorio Cisneros, 2, and Ariana Solorio Cisneros. Two other children in the vehicle survived the incident.
According to officials, the family was traveling in a 2014 Dodge SUV when the vehicle left the roadway and caught fire along the Oakdale-Waterford Highway, north of Claribel Road. Emergency crews responded shortly after 3 a.m. following reports of a solo-vehicle crash involving a fire.
Firefighters from the Modesto Fire Department arrived to find the SUV fully engulfed. Battalion Chief Jim Black reported that four people were trapped inside the burning vehicle. All four were pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding the cause of the crash. Investigators continue to review the circumstances to determine what led to the vehicle leaving the roadway. The surviving children were reportedly unharmed and have been placed in the care of relatives or appropriate authorities.
