Kerrie Jones Obituary, Death – A fatal crash early Saturday morning took the life of a Stillwater woman on Interstate 35 in Logan County, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) reported that Kerrie Jones, 41, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on the southbound lanes of I-35 around 2:53 a.m. The vehicle left the road, passing between concrete barriers near the State Highway 33 bridge, and then became airborne. It crashed onto State Highway 33 below, where it caught fire.

First responders from Guthrie EMS pronounced Jones dead at the scene due to the injuries sustained in the crash. Guthrie Fire Department crews worked to extricate Jones from the vehicle, which had pinned her for about 10 minutes. Her body was later transported to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office by Alpha & Omega Mortuary Service.

The cause of the crash, including any possible medical conditions or other factors that may have contributed to Jones driving the wrong way, is under investigation. The collision temporarily disrupted traffic in the area while emergency crews worked on the scene.

The incident highlights the dangers of wrong-way driving, especially on busy highways, and serves as a reminder to take extra precautions when driving late at night or early in the morning when visibility and alertness may be lower.
