Leo Blain Obituary, Death – Connecticut State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred on Route 44 in Putnam on Saturday evening. According to their preliminary findings, the incident took place around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Waltham Avenue.
The crash involved a 2019 Ford Fusion traveling west on Route 44, which struck 68-year-old Leo Blain, who was walking along the roadway at the time. After the collision, Blain was transported by ambulance to Day Kimball Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Ford, who appeared to be uninjured, was also taken to Day Kimball Hospital for evaluation by emergency medical services (EMS). Authorities are seeking any witnesses to the crash for further information.
