Frank Suggs Jr Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified a man who was fatally shot near a homeless encampment in Long Beach, California, early Sunday morning. The shooting also left another man injured.
The incident occurred in the 2600 block of East Ocean Boulevard, within the Bluff Park area. Officers from the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) responded to an “unknown trouble” call at 1:55 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening, and paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
While investigating the scene, officers discovered a second male victim near a homeless encampment, also suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. Police and first responders attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene by Long Beach Fire Department personnel.
The deceased man was identified on Monday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as 51-year-old Frank Suggs Jr. Authorities noted that Suggs was homeless at the time of the shooting.
Detectives are actively investigating the incident to determine the motive and circumstances that led to the violence. No suspects have been identified yet, and police are working to gather additional evidence and information.
