Enrique Loaiza Obituary, Death – A tragic two-vehicle collision in Shelby County on Friday claimed the life of one individual and left two others injured, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred on November 22 at the intersection of Ft. Loramie Swanders and Kuther roads. Emergency responders, including deputies and medics, were dispatched to the scene following reports of a severe crash. Upon arrival, they discovered two vehicles with significant damage and multiple occupants requiring medical attention.

Investigators determined that the crash was caused when a 2006 Chevy Cobalt failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection. The vehicle collided with a 2020 Honda Pilot, leading to the devastating outcome.

The driver of the Honda Pilot and a passenger sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the driver of the Chevy Cobalt, identified as 21-year-old Enrique Loaiza of Sidney, was critically injured. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Emergency crews from Anna Fire and Rescue, along with Sidney Fire and EMS, assisted authorities in managing the scene and aiding the injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office as officials work to determine additional factors that may have contributed to the collision.
