Uzziah Shell Obituary, Death – Police have identified the 16-year-old student who was tragically shot and killed near Hillhouse High School last month. The victim, Uzziah Shell, was found on November 22 in critical condition after the shooting, which occurred near Goffe and Hudson streets in New Haven. Authorities reported that Shell, a student at Riverside Education Academy, later succumbed to his injuries at Yale New Haven Hospital.
New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson indicated that the shooting appeared to be targeted, citing video evidence gathered from the scene. In addition to the fatal shooting, a stray bullet also struck a school bus that was carrying students from Celentano Biotech, Health, and Medical Magnet School. The bus was passing through the area when the shooting occurred, but fortunately, no one aboard the bus was injured, as confirmed by New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker.
At present, there have been no arrests made in connection with the incident, and the investigation is ongoing. Police are working to gather further details and identify any suspects involved in the tragic event.
