Cadence Monroe Hartman Obituary, Death – The identity of the victim in a fatal crash involving a semi-truck near Fergus Falls has been released. The incident occurred on Thursday morning, December 5, around 9:19 a.m. near mile marker 33 on State Highway 210, close to Wall Lake. The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the scene of the crash.

According to authorities, 18-year-old Cadence Monroe Hartman, a resident of Battle Lake, was driving west on Highway 210 when his vehicle collided head-on with an eastbound semi-truck. Hartman died at the scene from the impact of the crash. The truck driver, identified as 63-year-old David Marsh from Staples, was transported to Lake Region Healthcare with injuries that were not life-threatening.

At the time of the accident, road conditions were reported to be wet. Hartman was a student at Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State) in Fergus Falls, where he was involved in the theatre department, notably performing in the fall musical “Zombie Prom.”

The crash remains under investigation. The State Patrol was assisted by the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department, the Fergus Falls Fire Department, Ringdahl Ambulance, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation in responding to the scene.
