Charles A. Mordent Obituary, Death – On December 8, a tragic incident in Susquehanna County led to the death of a young man and left another person injured after they were struck by a vehicle. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the accident occurred around 10 a.m. in Lenox Township, along Creek Road. The deceased was identified as 20-year-old Charles A. Mordent, from Kingsley, Pennsylvania. Another individual was injured but survived, suffering what police described as moderate injuries.

The crash involved a Dodge Ram, which was traveling along Creek Road when it collided with a Ford F-150XLT that had a trailing unit attached. At the time of the collision, the Ford had been parked along the right shoulder of the road, though it was partially in the lane of traffic. The victims were outside the Ford, on the roadway, loading logs into the trailer when the accident occurred. Tragically, Mordent sustained fatal injuries from the impact.

The other individual, whose name was not immediately released, was also struck but survived the collision. Their injuries, while not life-threatening, were described as moderate. The driver of the Dodge Ram, whose identity was not made public by the police, was uninjured in the incident.

After the crash, both vehicles were towed from the scene. Emergency responders from Barnes Kasson Hospital EMS were quick to arrive and assist at the site of the accident. Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, but at this time, no charges have been announced against the driver of the Dodge Ram.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of working or standing near roadways. Authorities have urged the public to be especially cautious when operating or unloading vehicles in areas close to traffic.
