Alethea Green Obituary, Death – A tragic car accident in Erie County on Tuesday evening claimed the life of a Vermilion woman and left two others injured, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and state Route 61 in Berlin Township. Investigators say a 33-year-old Vermilion woman driving a Chevrolet Suburban failed to yield while attempting a left turn from Route 6 onto Route 61. Her vehicle collided with an oncoming Dodge Journey carrying two passengers, also from Vermilion.

The Dodge’s driver, a 70-year-old man, and his passenger, 67-year-old Alethea Green, were both rushed to local hospitals by ambulance. Sadly, Green succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment. The driver remains hospitalized at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky with serious injuries described as “incapacitating.”

The driver of the Chevrolet Suburban also sustained injuries and was transported to Fisher Titus Medical Center in Norwalk for treatment.

Authorities have not filed charges at this time, and the incident remains under investigation.
