Alfred Mottola Obituary Death – A 66-year-old man from Somers Point, Alfred Mottola 2nd, tragically died in a motorcycle crash last week in Egg Harbor Township. According to police, the crash occurred on Thursday evening, shortly after 8 p.m., on Longport Boulevard near the border of Somers Point.
Mottola was traveling west on Longport Boulevard when his motorcycle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a vehicle heading east. The vehicle was driven by a 17-year-old girl from Glassboro, who sustained a minor injury but declined medical treatment at the scene.
In addition to the two primary vehicles involved, a third vehicle was also caught up in the crash. The third vehicle, which was also traveling west on Longport Boulevard, had two occupants, a 63-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman from Marmora. Fortunately, both of them were uninjured in the incident.
Despite efforts to manage the crash site, Mottola was pronounced dead at the scene. The police closed Longport Boulevard for approximately five hours to conduct their investigation and clear the wreckage. The road, which connects Somers Point to Longport, remained closed during this time, causing significant disruption to traffic.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
