At around 10:45 p.m., troopers from the Jackson Patrol Post responded to a crash near milepost 6. Jason Frey, 46, was driving a 2021 Audi A5 westbound when he lost control of the vehicle. Frey failed to navigate a curve, causing the car to veer off the left side of the road and into the median. The vehicle then entered the eastbound lanes, where it collided with a 2014 Chevrolet Captiva driven by 18-year-old Luke White of Milton, West Virginia.

Crash Aftermath

The impact caused Frey’s Audi to overturn multiple times before it finally came to rest in the median. Emergency services rushed Frey to Holzer Hospital of Jackson, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Meanwhile, White and his passenger sustained minor injuries from the collision. They were treated on the scene and did not require hospitalization.
