Alice F. Hamilton Obituary, Death – The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Sunday evening, January 5, which resulted in the death of an elderly woman. The victim has been identified as 78-year-old Alice F. Hamilton.

The crash took place around 10:00 p.m. in the 20300 block of Pride-Baywood Road, located in East Baton Rouge Parish. According to the sheriff’s office, Hamilton was driving her vehicle westbound on Pride-Baywood Road when, for reasons that remain unclear, the vehicle left the road on the right side and entered a ditch. As the vehicle descended into the ditch, it struck a culvert and came to a sudden halt.

Despite the efforts of first responders, Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene. At this point, officials have not ruled out the possibility that a medical episode may have contributed to the crash, though they have stated that they do not suspect impairment as a factor. The coroner’s office is conducting an investigation to determine if a health-related incident, such as a heart attack or other medical condition, was the cause.
