William Nichols, Christie Nichols Obituary, Death – A tragic crash in Darlington County has resulted in the deaths of a husband and wife, who have been identified as 31-year-old William Nichols and 30-year-old Christie Nichols, both from North Carolina. The accident occurred on Wednesday on U.S. 52, outside of Dovesville.
According to Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee, the wreck took place just after 12:30 p.m. when a Nissan Altima collided with a Toyota Camry while both vehicles were traveling south on the highway. South Carolina Highway Patrol LCpl. Lena Butler reported that the impact caused the Toyota to veer left of the centerline, eventually being struck by a northbound Ford F-350.
William Nichols, who was driving the Toyota, and his wife Christie, who was a passenger, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, as confirmed by Hardee. Meanwhile, the occupants of the other vehicles involved in the incident sustained injuries. A passenger in the Nissan and all three individuals in the Ford were transported to hospitals for medical treatment, although no further details about their conditions were provided. Remarkably, the driver of the Nissan did not suffer any injuries.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash, and no additional information has been released at this time.
