Bisera Djurkovic Obituary, Death – The Rocky Hill Police Department has identified the pedestrian killed in a crash on the Silas Deane Highway Sunday afternoon as 59-year-old Bisera Djurkovic, a resident of Rocky Hill.
According to police, dispatch received a call at approximately 5:20 p.m. reporting a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 1800 block of the Silas Deane Highway. Officers responded to the scene and found Djurkovic with serious injuries. First responders, including officers and firefighters, provided medical assistance at the scene.
Djurkovic was transported to a nearby hospital, but despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident, who was unharmed, stayed at the scene and is fully cooperating with investigators.
The Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Team has taken over the investigation, as they continue to work to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash. At this stage, police have not disclosed any further details about the cause of the accident.
