According to the coroner, Richards died from gunshot wounds to his neck and torso. A 24-year-old man, Kenneth King, was quickly taken into custody following the incident.
The shooting occurred on January 14, 2025, in the 1400 block of East Lewis Street. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where Richards was pronounced dead.
