Brandon Perkins Death News – A man fatally shot during a police-involved incident in St. John, Indiana, on Wednesday has been identified as 40-year-old Brandon Perkins, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Department. The incident took place around 11:30 a.m. in the 14000 block of West 93rd Place.
A St. John police officer had been dispatched to a home in the Bramblewood subdivision following a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, a physical confrontation ensued, during which shots were fired, leaving Perkins wounded. Witnesses reported seeing him barefoot and in pajamas at the time of the incident. He was subsequently transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
George Jaksich, a local resident, described the scene as intense and unexpected, saying it shocked the neighborhood. Neighbors recounted hearing gunfire and observing officers administering CPR to Perkins after the shooting. Jaksich mentioned seeing the officers kick away what appeared to be dumbbells near Perkins before attempting to revive him.
The Lake County coroner’s office later confirmed Perkins’ identity. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and further details have yet to be released.
