Michael Lewis Schwartz Obituary, Death News – The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into a shooting involving a deputy, which resulted in the death of a man who allegedly aimed a firearm at law enforcement officers.
The incident took place on Eager Road, located outside the Punta Gorda city limits, between Burnt Store Road and U.S. 41, at approximately 5 p.m. on Thursday.
Sheriff Bill Prummell issued a statement concerning the shooting and the identity of the deceased individual.
As reported by Prummell, Michael Lewis Schwartz was observed walking along Eager Road, brandishing a handgun and discharging it while shouting, “Where are the cops?”
In response to this report, multiple deputies from the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene, which lasted several hours and culminated in the shooting of Schwartz.
“As deputies approached the area, they noticed a male, later identified as Michael Lewis Schwartz, sitting in a chair on the front porch of a residence.
