Tobin Armstrong Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified 43-year-old Tobin Armstrong from San Diego as the victim of a tragic chain-reaction crash on a rain-slicked freeway in Del Cerro. The fatal incident occurred on Sunday morning around 8:30 a.m. on westbound Interstate 8, just east of Waring Road.

According to the county Medical Examiner’s Office, Armstrong was driving a Nissan sedan when he crashed into a pickup truck that was stopped on the left shoulder of the freeway. As Armstrong attempted to assess the situation, a Good Samaritan approached to offer assistance. However, another pickup truck, which was also traveling on the freeway, struck Armstrong’s Nissan, causing him to be ejected from the vehicle and onto the roadway.

Paramedics quickly arrived at the scene and rushed Armstrong to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the hospital. The Good Samaritan who tried to help Armstrong was also injured in the crash, although the severity of their injuries remains unknown.

The incident occurred during rainy weather conditions, which may have contributed to the slick road conditions and the chain-reaction crash. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine if any further factors played a role in the tragic event.
