Emmanuel Moncoeur Death News – A man discovered bound at the hands and feet with head injuries alongside a highway in Queens this week has been identified as Emmanuel Moncoeur, a 57-year-old realtor and Haitian immigrant.
The medical examiner has ruled that Moncoeur died from blunt force trauma to the head, classifying the cause of death as homicide.
His remains were located in the grass adjacent to the Clearview Expressway on Tuesday morning, showing signs of a fractured skull due to the impact.
Upon discovery, his body was in a state of decomposition, and the duration of time he spent in that location remains uncertain. Forensic analysis will ascertain the time of his death.
Long-time friends of Moncoeur are struggling to comprehend the circumstances surrounding his demise.
“I can understand various events occurring in the world, but this is akin to kidnapping someone, tying them up—it’s simply too extreme,” remarked his friend Valery Pierre.
A disabled driver made the grim discovery of Moncoeur’s body earlier this week. He had last been seen by his housemates on January 2.
“I was asleep when I heard him leave the apartment, but when I tried to contact him later that evening, he did not respond,” Pierre recounted. “As days passed—three, four, five, six—it became increasingly unusual.”
Moncoeur resided in a multi-family home in Forest Hills, where his housemates were like family to him.
Pierre noted that two officers had come to take a report, but he had not received any updates until NYPD officers arrived this week to search his apartment following the discovery of his body.
“I thought perhaps he had been in a car accident or was hospitalized without anyone knowing,” Pierre said. “So I considered calling 911 to find out more.”
Moncoeur had no criminal record or prior interactions with law enforcement and had never been reported missing.
