The accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. near milepost 288. Authorities reported that Aleksandr Vasilevich Yevtushok of Boring was driving when his vehicle rear-ended a semi-truck. The impact left Yevtushok with critical injuries, prompting emergency responders to rush him to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the semi-truck did not sustain any injuries in the crash. Police have not released details about what may have caused Yevtushok to collide with the truck.
The incident disrupted traffic on the interstate for approximately three hours as investigators conducted their assessment and cleared the scene. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the factors contributing to the fatal crash.
