Adavion Herring Obituary, Death – Authorities in Tulsa are investigating a deadly shooting that took place at the Brighton Park Apartments early Saturday morning. The Tulsa Police Department has identified both the victim and one of the suspects involved in the incident.
Shooting Incident and Victim Identification
Police officers responded to reports of gunfire at the apartment complex around 2:00 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered 17-year-old Adavion Herring inside one of the apartments, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Sadly, Herring was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to investigators, multiple shots were fired into the apartment through a bedroom window. Officers located shell casings from both .45 caliber and 9mm firearms at the scene, suggesting the involvement of at least two shooters. Despite the severity of the attack, three other individuals who were inside the apartment at the time were not injured.
Witnesses Lead Police to a Suspect
Eyewitnesses reported seeing two male suspects outside the apartment just before the shooting occurred. Their statements helped police identify one of the individuals involved as 17-year-old Siion Ferguson.
Later that day, around 12:30 p.m., officers located Ferguson in an Uber near East 41st Street and Memorial Drive. Another juvenile was also in the vehicle at the time. During the encounter, police discovered a .45 caliber handgun near Ferguson and a 9mm handgun in possession of the other juvenile.
Arrest and Ongoing Investigation
Following his arrest, Ferguson was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder. Meanwhile, authorities are working to determine the involvement of the second juvenile found in the Uber.
