Diana Malla Obituary, Death – A tragic accident in Danbury over the weekend claimed the life of a 37-year-old pedestrian, who has now been identified by police as Diana Malla, a local resident.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on Saturday evening near the intersection of Newtown Road and Eagle Road. Danbury police responded to the scene at approximately 6:40 p.m. after receiving reports of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, officers found Malla lying in the roadway with severe injuries. Emergency medical personnel transported her to Danbury Hospital, where she was treated for life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts to save her, she passed away on Sunday, the day after the crash.
The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said. In the aftermath of the crash, a portion of Newtown Road was temporarily closed for several hours while authorities conducted their investigation.
