Brendan Cary, Dominic Reyes Obituary, Death – A devastating crash in Gloucester County on Sunday afternoon claimed the lives of two teenagers and left a woman and four children injured. New Jersey State Police have identified the deceased as 19-year-old Brendan Cary and 19-year-old Dominic Reyes, both from Franklinville.
Victims Identified
Cary was a student at Delsea Regional High School, while Reyes had recently graduated from the same school, according to Superintendent Fran Ciociola. In a message to the school community, Ciociola expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy.
“Our school family is heartbroken, and our thoughts are with their families, friends, and all who knew and loved them,” he wrote. He also acknowledged that the accident affected people beyond the school, extending condolences to all those impacted.
Crash Details
The crash occurred at 4:17 p.m. on Route 55 North in Glassboro. According to State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan, the accident involved three vehicles.
Authorities say the crash began when the right-front corner of Cary’s vehicle struck the left-rear corner of a Honda CRV traveling in the right lane. The impact caused Cary to lose control, veering off the roadway and colliding with a disabled Dodge minivan on the shoulder. The force of the collision caused the minivan to overturn.
Injuries and Investigation
A 17-year-old passenger in Cary’s vehicle and the driver of the minivan sustained serious injuries, though their current conditions remain unclear. Three children inside the minivan suffered minor injuries.
Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the crash, and authorities are working to piece together the events leading up to the collision.
