Stanley M. Robinson Obituary, Death Cause – Two people have been arrested in connection with a homicide case in Morristown, where a man was found dead near railroad tracks, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed.

The suspects, 33-year-old Enrique “Flaco” Vega and 31-year-old Cassandra West, both described as homeless and known to frequent Morris County, face multiple charges related to the death of 65-year-old Stanley M. Robinson from Dover.

The investigation began on Friday, June 13, when Robinson’s body was discovered along Patriots Path near Cory Road, close to the railroad tracks. His death was initially considered suspicious. Authorities later determined that Robinson had died from blunt force trauma to the head and ruled the case a homicide.

Investigators believe that Vega and West witnessed a violent confrontation between Robinson and a person identified only by the initials R.E. Following the altercation, Robinson was left seriously injured, and officials say Vega and West failed to call for help or seek medical assistance.

After the incident, the two reportedly went to the Red Carpet Inn in Hanover. Authorities believe Vega stole \$2,500 from the hotel’s cash register while West acted as a lookout. They are both facing charges connected to this burglary: Vega with burglary, theft, and conspiracy to commit burglary, while West faces conspiracy charges.

The following day, June 14, Vega and West are also believed to have come across R.E.’s body inside a vacant home on Ridgedale Avenue in Hanover. Investigators say West tampered with the scene by discarding a used heroin fold she found near the body. On June 16, law enforcement located R.E.’s remains. An initial examination showed no signs of physical trauma, and the cause of death is still pending.

That same day, June 16, Vega and West were located and arrested at the Road Street rail station in Newark. They were transported to the Morristown Police Department for processing. On June 17, they were officially charged in connection with the three incidents.

In relation to Robinson’s death in Morristown, both face charges of endangering an injured victim and defiant trespass. For the burglary at the Red Carpet Inn, Vega was charged with burglary, theft, and conspiracy, while West was charged with conspiracy to commit both burglary and theft. For the Hanover residence incident, both are charged with criminal trespass, and West additionally faces a charge of tampering with evidence.

The two suspects remain in custody as they await court proceedings. Authorities emphasize that the investigation, particularly into Robinson’s death, remains active.
