Anthony Hampshire Obituary, Death – A 60-year-old man who was discovered dead inside a Brooklyn apartment over the weekend has been officially identified, according to police. The New York City Police Department announced on Wednesday that the victim is Anthony Hampshire.
Officers responded to a wellness check request on Saturday, June 22, around 6:30 p.m. at an apartment located at 1069 Sterling Place in the Crown Heights neighborhood. When they arrived, they found Hampshire unresponsive inside the residence.
Authorities reported that Hampshire had suffered trauma to the head. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Following an examination, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner classified the death as a homicide, confirming that the head injuries were consistent with foul play.
As of now, no details have been released regarding a suspect, and the motive behind the incident remains unclear. Police have not disclosed any information about whether there were signs of forced entry or if Hampshire lived alone.
