Ashley Todd Obituary, Death – The Horry County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman who lost her life while attempting to cross Highway 501 late Wednesday night. Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard confirmed that the victim was 41-year-old Ashley Todd of Conway. She stated that Todd died from blunt force injuries sustained during the incident.

According to authorities, the collision occurred at approximately 11:10 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 501 and Carolina Forest Boulevard. South Carolina Highway Patrol spokesperson Brandon Bolt reported that Todd was crossing the highway in a westward direction when she was struck by a northbound 2015 Honda SUV.

The driver of the SUV was not injured in the collision. No additional details have been released about the driver, and it is unclear if any charges will be filed.

Emergency personnel from Horry County Fire Rescue were dispatched to the crash site to assist in the response.

This incident marked the second fatal pedestrian crash in Horry County in as many days, as another pedestrian was killed in a separate accident on Tuesday night.

Authorities continue to urge both pedestrians and drivers to remain vigilant, especially during nighttime hours when visibility is reduced. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Todd’s death remains ongoing.
