Samuel Gross Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified the man who died following a gas leak at a Lexington apartment complex early Monday morning. According to a statement from Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn, the victim was 62-year-old Samuel Gross, a resident of Lexington. Emergency crews were dispatched to the Oxford Circle Apartments, located near Oxford Circle and Versailles Road, shortly after 4 a.m. in response to a report of a person experiencing difficulty breathing.

Upon arrival, the Lexington Fire Department discovered dangerously high levels of flammable gases, including methane and carbon monoxide, inside the complex. Due to the elevated gas concentrations, firefighters evacuated more than 30 apartment units to ensure the safety of other residents.

At this time, the exact cause of Samuel Gross’s death remains under investigation. Authorities have not confirmed whether the gas exposure was the direct cause, and further examination, including autopsy results, is expected to clarify the circumstances.

Emergency officials continue to assess the situation at the apartment complex to determine how the gas leak occurred and to prevent future incidents. Investigators are also working to ensure the building is safe for residents to return.

No additional injuries have been reported. The incident has prompted concerns about gas safety and the importance of prompt detection and response to gas-related emergencies.
