Delores Dalluge Obituary, Death – Two people lost their lives following a house explosion that occurred in Warrensburg on Sunday afternoon. On Tuesday, the Macon County Coroner officially identified the victims as Dale and Delores Dalluge, a couple who lived at the residence.
The explosion happened around 4 p.m. on Roosevelt Street, sending plumes of smoke into the air and prompting authorities to close off the surrounding area to ensure safety and begin their response.
Residents nearby reported feeling the impact of the explosion. Linda Henkel, a neighbor living close to the blast site, told WAND News that the explosion was so powerful it caused her house and windows to shake violently. She described the sensation as a combination of an earthquake and a sonic boom. Henkel also noted that a neighboring house caught fire as a result of the blast.
“It shook the house like it was an earthquake combined with a sonic boom,” she recalled, emphasizing the sheer force of the explosion.
Another neighbor, Ashley Blust, also shared her reaction to the aftermath. She said that the house appeared completely destroyed and described the scene as something out of a disaster movie. “It looked like a deck of cards. Like the roof had just blown off and the walls just kind of caved out,” Blust said.
The explosion left the house in ruins and shocked the quiet neighborhood. Emergency crews quickly responded to the scene to contain the fire and begin recovery efforts. Officials have not released details about whether any others were injured or if surrounding structures sustained major damage.
As of now, the exact cause of the explosion remains under investigation. Authorities are working to determine what led to the deadly incident. Investigators from local fire and law enforcement agencies, along with the State Fire Marshal’s Office, are expected to be involved in the effort to uncover what triggered the blast.
