Adrian Gallegos, Jeremiah Corbett Obituary, Death – Two individuals who lost their lives in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Pueblo West on July 10 have been officially identified by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office. The victims were 25-year-old Adrian Gallegos of Pueblo and 23-year-old Jeremiah Corbett of Pueblo West. The announcement was made on July 11 via the coroner’s social media platform.

The fatal crash occurred in the early hours of the morning on the 400 block of South McCulloch Boulevard. According to a news release issued by the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) on July 10, both excessive speed and possible intoxication are being examined as contributing factors in the accident. The Chieftain was unable to obtain further details from CSP spokespeople on July 11.

CSP reports indicate that at approximately 2 a.m., a 2018 Audi sedan was heading southbound on South McCulloch Boulevard at what was described as a high rate of speed. As the car approached West Idaho Springs Drive, the driver failed to navigate a slight left-hand curve and veered off the right side of the road.

In an attempt to regain control, the driver applied the brakes and turned left, causing the vehicle to rotate counterclockwise. The Audi then collided with several roadside structures, including an electrical box, a bench, and a trash can, before flipping over multiple times.

Three of the car’s four occupants, including the driver, were ejected during the rollover. Both Gallegos and Corbett were pronounced dead at the scene. The two other occupants were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries described as moderate to severe.

Both victims worked at the Colorado Territorial Correctional Facility, a fact confirmed by the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC). According to Alondra Gonzalez, the CDOC’s Director of Communications, Gallegos and Corbett were not on duty at the time of the crash, nor were they commuting to or from work.

Gonzalez expressed the department’s condolences, emphasizing their commitment to supporting the affected families and their staff during this time of mourning. “Our department’s immediate and primary focus is on supporting the families of everyone impacted, as well as our staff,” Gonzalez stated in a written message. “We ask for patience and respect for the privacy of the families during this profoundly difficult time.”

Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash and have asked that anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was in the vicinity contact CSP dispatch. Those with relevant information are encouraged to reference case number VC250228 when reaching out to the authorities at 719-544-2424.

As the investigation proceeds, the crash marks another sobering reminder of the dangers of high-speed driving and the tragic consequences that can follow in an instant.
