At approximately 12:20 a.m. on Saturday, State Police attempted to pull over a motorcycle on Route 9 near Hidden Farm Road in Queensbury for speeding. The rider, later identified as 38-year-old Alex S. Morehouse of Warrensburg, failed to stop, initiating a pursuit. Troopers discontinued the chase near the intersection of Route 9 and Lafayette Street due to safety concerns. Despite the cessation of the pursuit, the motorcycle continued into Glens Falls, where it struck a curb and crashed at around 12:23 a.m. on Bacon Street at the intersection with Glen Street, near the Chapman Museum.
Victims Identified
The crash resulted in the deaths of both the rider and his passenger. Morehouse was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passenger, 38-year-old Suzie J. Etu of South Glens Falls, succumbed to her injuries at Glens Falls Hospital. Etu, a graduate of Oswego High School, had worked as a hairdresser and more recently as a certified nursing assistant.
