Alexis Jasso, Francisco Navarrete Obituary, Death – Authorities in Liberty County have identified the suspect accused of opening fire at a local sports bar over the weekend, leaving two people dead and four others wounded. The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office is now searching for 32-year-old Jose Osman Aguilar Cantillano, who is wanted on murder charges.
Investigators said the incident happened shortly after midnight on Sunday at the Alas Locos bar. According to deputies, Cantillano had been inside the establishment drinking a beer before stepping outside to his white van. Moments later, he retrieved a firearm and began shooting into the crowd.
Six people in total were struck by gunfire during the attack. Among the victims, 30-year-old Alexis Jasso and 43-year-old Francisco Navarrete succumbed to their injuries. The four other individuals who were shot survived and were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Authorities have not released their names, but they confirmed the victims suffered various gunshot wounds.
Following the shooting, deputies executed a search warrant at Cantillano’s residence in hopes of locating him, but he was not found there. However, during a return visit to the home, investigators arrested his wife, 23-year-old Alejandra Marie Valdez Montoya, accusing her of tampering with evidence related to the case. She has since been booked into the Liberty County Jail.
Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies across the region are working to track Cantillano’s whereabouts. Investigators believe he is still driving the same white van he used to flee the crime scene. Authorities say he may be traveling toward New Orleans or Atlanta, but his exact location remains unknown.
The violent incident has left the community reeling. Friends and relatives of the victims are mourning their loss while pleading for justice. One woman, Yahaira Guadarrama, told ABC13 that she personally knew one of the victims and was devastated by the events. Guadarrama explained she might have been at the bar that night had her plans been different. “I’m mad because even if he gets caught, it’s not going to bring my friends back,” she said. “Hope to God that he gets caught and pays for what he did.”
The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any information that might lead to Cantillano’s capture.
