Amanda Baratka Obituary, Death – On Monday night, a tragic car crash claimed the life of 38-year-old Amanda Baratka of Naperville. The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. in the 1400 block of Auburn Avenue, where authorities responded to reports of a vehicle fire.
Upon extinguishing the blaze, emergency responders discovered a person inside the charred remains of a Toyota Rav 4, later identified as Baratka. Naperville police believe she was driving south on Wehrli Drive when her vehicle veered off the road, striking two light poles. The impact caused the vehicle to stop in a residential driveway, where it subsequently caught fire.
A young family member was also inside the vehicle during the crash but managed to escape unharmed.
Baratka was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are still gathering details about the crash.
