Anthony Jomar Reeves – A tragic accident claimed the life of a 42-year-old Las Vegas man, Anthony Jomar Reeves, late Saturday night. The incident occurred near the on-ramp to southbound Interstate 15 at Lake Mead Boulevard, as reported by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol (NSP).
Reeves was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release issued on Thursday. The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol – Traffic Homicide Unit is currently conducting an investigation into the crash, and no charges have been filed at this time.
Investigators stated that the collision happened around 11:35 p.m. on January 4, when Reeves was outside the marked crosswalk. He stepped into the roadway near the southbound I-15 on-ramp, where he was struck by a red 2025 Dodge Ram 1500 Lone Star pickup traveling eastbound on Lake Mead Boulevard. Despite the driver’s efforts to avoid him, Reeves was hit by the left front of the pickup.
The driver of the Dodge Ram remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the investigation. Following the collision, the pickup came to a controlled stop in the far-left travel lane, just west of the I-15 southbound traffic signal.
The ongoing investigation aims to determine the exact circumstances that led to the accident. Authorities will continue to gather evidence and testimonies to conclude the incident.
