Antonio Benjamin Dorame – A 25-year-old man was declared deceased at the site of a pedestrian-vehicle accident on Thursday evening, occurring on the 3000 block of North Oracle Road, situated between Fort Lowell Road and Miracle Mile, as reported by the Tucson Police Department.

The pedestrian has been identified as Antonio Benjamin Dorame, aged 25. According to a press release from the police, Dorame was in the process of crossing Oracle at approximately 7 p.m. when he was struck by a 2005 Honda Civic traveling northbound in the center lane at a speed exceeding the posted limit of 40 miles per hour.

The driver involved has been identified as 21-year-old Juan Carlos Urquidez. He was transported to Banner-University Medical Center with serious injuries, where an officer from the DUI unit determined that he was impaired at the time of the incident.

The investigation revealed that Dorame was not utilizing a crosswalk when the collision occurred. Following the impact with Dorame, Urquidez allegedly continued driving north, disregarding a red light at Fort Lowell Road and colliding with another vehicle that was turning left onto Oracle, leading to a three-car accident. No further injuries were reported, according to the Tucson Police Department’s media release.

After being discharged from the hospital, Urquidez was taken into custody at the Pima County Jail and charged with Manslaughter, along with four counts of Aggravated Assault.
