Armando Ventura Obituary, Death – A man has been taken into custody in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning in Galveston, Texas. According to law enforcement, the suspect, 25-year-old Johnathan Lee of Galveston, was arrested on Thursday and is facing charges of murder and aggravated assault related to the incident.
The shooting took place in the 2400 block of Avenue E and resulted in one fatality and two others being hospitalized. The deceased victim has been identified as 31-year-old Armando Ventura from La Marque. Police said Ventura was found inside a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities also located a second victim—a 29-year-old man—who had sustained several gunshot wounds. He was discovered a short distance from the initial crime scene, near the intersection of 25th Street and Avenue G. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital where he remains in serious condition, although he is expected to survive his injuries.
A third person involved in the incident, a 25-year-old man, was also taken to the hospital. However, officials confirmed that his injuries were not related to gunfire. He was found near the original scene of the shooting on Avenue E.
Following an investigation, police determined that Lee acted alone as the shooter in the altercation that involved all three victims. Although the motive for the shooting has not yet been disclosed, detectives were able to gather sufficient evidence to charge Lee and take him into custody.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and they are urging anyone with additional information about the case to come forward. Lee remains in police custody as the legal process moves forward.
