HAMILTON COUNTY, NEBRASKA — Authorities are investigating a fatal vehicle-pedestrian crash that occurred early Tuesday morning near Phillips Spur and Highway 34.
According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were notified of the crash at approximately 6:51 a.m. on February 10. Emergency responders were dispatched to the area after receiving reports of a person struck in the roadway.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 21-year-old man, identified by authorities as Ayden Javarone, was struck by a Dodge Durango. The vehicle was driven by an individual from Phillips, officials said.
The Phillips Fire Department and Aurora Ambulance responded to the scene and provided medical assistance. Javarone was transported to Grand Island Regional Hospital for treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island.
Despite medical efforts, authorities confirmed that Javarone was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office extended condolences to Javarone’s family and loved ones, acknowledging the profound loss and the impact this tragedy has on the community.
