Brian Irons Obituary, Death – Delaware State Police are conducting an investigation into a deadly crash between a car and a motorcycle that occurred on the evening of Saturday, September 13. Authorities said the collision happened shortly after 7 p.m. at the intersection of Dupont Boulevard and Centerview Drive in Millsboro.

According to police, a Honda motorcycle was traveling north on Dupont Boulevard at a high rate of speed when it approached the Centerview Drive intersection. Investigators said the motorcyclist did not stop at the traffic signal. At the same time, a Chevrolet Malibu was driving westbound in the right lane of Centerview Drive, lawfully entering the intersection after receiving a green light.

The motorcycle struck the left front side of the Malibu, and the impact was severe enough to eject the rider from the vehicle. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but the motorcyclist, identified as 52-year-old Brian Irons of York, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police released his identity to the public the following Monday morning.

The driver of the Malibu, a 21-year-old man from Millsboro, suffered injuries in the collision. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he received treatment for wounds that were not considered life-threatening. Authorities have not released his name.

Troopers noted that while Irons died from injuries sustained in the crash, the investigation into the exact circumstances is still underway. Police are working to determine contributing factors, including speed, driver behavior, and traffic light signals at the time of impact.
